Biography

Praised for her rich and powerful voice, Canadian soprano Audrey Larose-Zicat has established herself on both European and Canadian stages.

A former member of the Opernstudio at the Staatstheater Nürnberg (2009–2010), she appeared in several productions singing roles from Mozart, Donizetti, and Verdi. She also performed Amore in Gluck’s Orphée et Eurydice at the Internationale Gluck-OpernFestspiele Nürnberg 2010.

From 2010 to 2014, she was a soloist with the Theater Görlitz in Germany, where her repertoire included Eurydice (Orphée et Eurydice), Cunegonde (Candide), Rosalinde (Die Fledermaus), the Countess (Le Nozze di Figaro), the Beggar Woman (Sweeney Todd), and Violetta (La Traviata), the latter earning her acclaim from both audiences and critics. She also sang in Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9 during the celebrations of the 25th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall at the Staakener Zuversichtkirche.

During her studies at Université Laval under the guidance of Hélène Fortin, she performed roles such as Constance (Dialogues des Carmélites), the Fire, the Princess, and the Nightingale (L’Enfant et les Sortilèges), Alcina (Alcina), and the title role in Massenet’s Cendrillon. She also sang Antonia (Les Contes d’Hoffmann) with the Opera of Brașov in Romania.

In Canada, Audrey made her debut at Opéra de Québec in 2016 as Lauretta in Puccini’s Gianni Schicchi. She later appeared as Saffi in Johann Strauss’s Der Zigeunerbaron with Opéra Bouffe du Québec, and in 2018 returned to Opéra de Québec as Frasquita in Bizet’s Carmen.
